Studio Sitter Session in Chicago | 9 Months of Pure Joy

One of my favorite sessions to photograph is the sitter stage — that sweet spot around 6 to 10 months when babies are sitting up on their own, full of personality, and not yet on the move. Recently, I had the absolute joy of photographing a 9-month-old baby boy in the studio for a sitter session, and it was everything I love about this age — playful, expressive, and completely heart-melting.

Indoor Studio Sitter Sessions

Even though it’s summer in Chicago, indoor baby sessions are a perfect option year-round. Whether it’s 90 degrees and humid or snowing outside, the studio is always comfortable, clean, and ready for little ones. I use flash lighting in all of my indoor sessions, so we get consistent, beautiful light every time — no matter what the weather or time of day looks like.

This sweet boy gave us everything: big smiles, serious looks, curious expressions — and a few moments where he just paused and soaked it all in. That’s the beauty of these sessions: there’s no rush. We follow baby’s lead and capture whatever unfolds naturally.
